A New Hope Farm is a first-generation family farm located in Winsted, CT.
John started A New Hope Farm at the tail end of 2014 with a few friends from college. During their time in the horticultural program at Naugatuck Valley Community College, they were inspired by market gardening, the native plant, and local food movement.
In 2015, they started growing vegetables and native plants for home gardens in a small greenhouse.
Born and raised in the city of Waterbury, Connecticut, John and Michalina have always had strong ties to their community.
They met in the summer of 2017. Michalina was buying vegetables at A New Hope Farm's farm stand. Michalina started helping out at the farm in 2018, and became an active member the following year.
After the departure of the other founding members, John and Michalina, decided to keep the farm going. After the birth of their daughter in January 2020, John and Michalina shifted their focus entirely on the farm and their family.
We currently grow specialty vegetables and herbs for The Farm Club and local restaurants, along with providing services such as Garden Consultations and Installations, and we are authorized BCS dealers.
Now in our sixth growing season, we look forward to increasing the availability of local, sustainable, and responsibly grown produce in our communities, and to building a community for generations to come.
